Evan Almighty is a spin-off sequel to the 2003 hit Bruce Almighty . The story follows Evan Baxter, a newly elected U.S. Congressman who leaves Buffalo for Washington, D.C., with a promise to “change the world.” Soon after, God (Morgan Freeman) appears to him and instructs him to build an ark — because a great flood is coming.
