Instead, he placed his thumb over the right analog stick—the one Sam would have used to look around. And for a moment, just a moment, the Viewer glitched. Two inputs overlapped. Sam’s ghost looked left. Leo’s living thumb looked right. A habit

The character was moving on its own.

Sam’s ghost—or rather, the input history Sam had left behind—was still playing.
