The movie takes place in a time when the gods of Egypt are real and live among humans. The story revolves around the god of the sun, Ra (Jeremy Irvine), who is betrayed and overthrown by his brother, Seth (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), the god of chaos. Seth steals the magical Osiris, which is the source of power for the gods, and Ra is forced to choose a mortal, Bek (Brenton Thwaites), to help him defeat Seth and reclaim the throne.
