Kanobitch ~kanojo Ga Bitch Ni Natta Riyuu~ -
But here's the truth they never ask in those gossip circles:
She started wearing shorter skirts, laughing louder, leaning into other guys' shoulders like they were pillows. She drank until her lipstick smeared and danced like she was trying to bruise the floor. People called her a bitch. Some said it with disgust, others with a grin. kanobitch ~kanojo ga bitch ni natta riyuu~
Aoi didn't lose her heart. She just locked it in a drawer and threw away the key — because loving gently had left her empty. So now she takes what she wants. Attention. Pleasure. Control. Not because she's cruel, but because she's tired. But here's the truth they never ask in
"Kanobitch" isn't a story about a girl gone bad. It's a story about a girl who finally decided: if they're going to call you difficult anyway, you might as well be dangerous. Would you like a darker, more dramatic version, or a character monologue from the girl’s perspective? Some said it with disgust, others with a grin
In search of peace
Our hands bend iron for sickles,
but the heart starts to imagine
our enemies’ necks as grasses
When I read these lines
I thought what an image!
They were enough for me
to reach for my Visa card.
I also loved watching him
performing live. The first
poem he read about
wanting to be a river to
emigrate but still be at home
was marvellous.
Thanks for the introduction Peter.

Thank you so much for posting this. I enjoyed Beweketu’s poetry even more than his novels through the years. I also hope his previous poetry works would be translated into english to reach a larger audience.
