“Ghosts?” he spat. “I killed you once. I can do it again.”
She had kept it burning for twenty years.
Arjun caught him by the neck and dragged him to the edge of the well. Karan stood beside him, silent.
“The sons of Ram Singh,” she whispered. “The earth has vomited you back.”
Durjan arrived with fifty armed men. He was old but cruel, his fingers heavy with stolen rings. He saw the two young men standing in the moonlight and laughed.
Durjan was left at the village square for the people he had terrorized. Justice was swift, silent, and final.
Radha did not ask for proof. A mother knows.
Arjun looked at his brother. “Do you remember the darkness?”
