I opened the back, located the test points, shorted them, and immediately the PC recognized . Thirty minutes later, Mi Flash restored the stock ROM. The phone booted like new.
It sounds technical. Slightly scary, even. But once you understand what it is — and what it isn’t — the test point becomes one of the most powerful tools in Android repair. A test point is not a button, a jumper, or a software hack.
It’s a on the phone’s motherboard. When shorted (briefly connected) during a specific step of the flashing process, it forces the device into EDL mode (Emergency Download Mode) — a low-level Qualcomm state that even a completely bricked phone can enter.
