The voice cut. The hard drive light flickered. Leo’s screen glowed through the gap in the hinge, and he saw one last frame frozen mid-glitch: Shadow the Hedgehog, standing in his closet, red eyes reflecting the real-world streetlight outside.
The MKV glitched. For one frame, Leo saw himself in the corner of the shot, reflected in a puddle, wearing the same hoodie he had on right now. Then the image snapped back.
Sonic skidded to a halt, looked directly into the camera, and whispered: “He found the file.”
