It’s brutal. Clark has no answer. He puts a hand on Jonathan’s shoulder, but Jonathan shrugs it off and walks away. At the DOD, Bizarro suddenly awakens. His eyes glow bright red (opposite of Superman’s heat vision—it’s “cold vision” that freezes steel). He shatters the red-sun lamps and breaks free. Soldiers fire Kryptonite rounds, but they only slow him. He speaks in full reverse sentences: “ Not enemy. Ally find to need I. ”
Meanwhile, Jonathan tries out for quarterback. He’s good—really good—but Coach Gaines notices he’s playing with reckless abandon, almost like he’s trying to hurt himself. After practice, Jonathan ices his shoulder in the locker room alone. The camera lingers on his face: he’s angry, not just at Clark but at himself for not having powers. Lois visits the Shuster Mines with Chrissy Beppo. They find an abandoned research station with melted equipment and strange, glowing green crystals embedded in the walls. The episode ends on a wide shot of the four of them—Superman, Lois, Bizarro, and Lara—standing in the glowing mine, as the portal behind them crackles with unstable energy. Late night. Lana paces while Kyle watches TV numbly. Sarah comes home late, and Lana confronts her. Sarah breaks down: “I almost died, Mom. And Jordan lied to my face about how I survived.” Lana holds her. The camera lingers on a family photo: the four of them smiling. Now, everyone is drifting apart. A dark room. John Henry Irons (Steel) watches news footage of Superman fighting Bizarro. He rewinds, freeze-frames on Bizarro’s chest symbol. Then he pulls up data from his own universe’s files. A file labeled “B-ZERO” opens. On screen: a sketch of Bizarro and the words: “He is not the threat. He is the warning.” At the DOD, Bizarro suddenly awakens
She hears a faint hum. Following it, she discovers a second, smaller portal device—still active. On its control panel is a symbol: the House of El, but mirrored. Lois takes a photo and sends it to Clark with a text: “We need to talk.” Clark finds Jonathan alone, angrily punching a heavy bag. Jonathan unloads: “You’re never here. Mom’s doing everything. Jordan gets powers, I get nothing but moves and lies.” Clark tries to explain the danger of Bizarro, but Jonathan cuts him off: “There’s always a danger. Maybe I don’t want to be saved anymore.”
But instead of finishing him, Bizarro looks at the sky, then at Superman, and whispers again: Then he flies away—not toward Metropolis, but back toward Smallville. The Mine Portal – Climax Lois is still at the mine when alarms blare. The second portal activates. A figure stumbles through: a woman in tattered Kryptonian armor, bleeding from a wound in her side. It’s Lara Lor-Van —but not Clark’s mother. This is the Bizarro universe’s Lara, wife of that world’s Jor-El.
