The road trip is shot with stunning 4K clarity — long highways, sunsets bleeding orange and red. Sheldon talks nonstop about the aerodynamic failure of the family station wagon. George turns up the radio. They stop at a diner where Sheldon orders toast “pre-toasted to 73% crispiness.”
In the cellar, the family huddles by flashlight. For the first time in a long time, there’s no bickering. Mary prays. Missy holds Sheldon’s hand — he doesn’t pull away. George Sr. looks at his family and says, “We’ve been through worse.” But the roar above says otherwise.
